Thank you for your patience and understanding as our team worked collaboratively with the Participant Advisory Council to envision a fair credit/deferral policy and a valuable Virtual Relay experience for teams.

Effective collaboration and truly listening to understand takes an enormous amount of time and energy. After speaking individually with over 40 team captains, and with the assistance and guidance of the Participant Advisory Committee, we arrived at the best possible solution after many hours of brainstorming and evaluating all ideas on how to create this shared vision for the future.  As Cascade Relays is considered more like a family, it has been appropriate to have representation, oversight, and input from the family members who make our events special.  We are deeply grateful for the hours of work that Participant Advisory Council members spent with our team.

A comprehensive FAQs page is now available on our website.

The FAQs page comprises:

– Our credit/deferral policy

– Participant Advisory Committee’s role

– Details on the Virtual Relay experience and packet pick-up

– Snapshot of Cascade Relays expenses

We ask you to read through the FAQs page in its entirety.  If you still have questions and would like to request a personal call from me, please complete this form. I will continue to place individual calls over the next couple of weeks and appreciate your patience as I work through this list, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to be heard.

With gratitude,

Scott and Carrie

We hope you remain safe and well during these challenging times.  As of today, Bend Beer Chase is scheduled to be hosted on the postponement date of Saturday, September 26th.  Our staff remains committed and we are currently preparing for this event.  The health and safety of our participants, volunteers, spectators, partners and community is our number one priority and we are diligently working with our permitting agencies and health agencies to create a plan to safely host the event this September.

If held, Bend Beer Chase will be modified to strictly follow Phase 2 guidelines, reducing the number of participants on course/start/exchanges/finish, providing additional sanitation stations, and requiring masks to be worn in congested areas throughout the event.  Additional safety precautions may be implemented to ensure public safety for all.

We recognize that much could change between now and September; however,  in an effort to give teams adequate lead time to plan, we are requesting your feedback so we can continue our preparations with your best interests and safety in mind. As a Team Captain, you are the most important and vital to the success of our events, so we are asking you to complete a very short survey.   We need your honest opinion and evaluation on how you and your teammates are currently prepared to successfully fill your roster and how your teammates are feeling about participating in BBC this September. Please submit a response to the short survey by Wednesday, July 1st.

Thank you.
